![]() ![]() honorable mention) was the final boss of Lightning Returns. Second thing that popped into my head (i.e. In a general sense, the core Press Turn combat is absolutely rock-solid.The fight itself sends the entire SMT4 saga out with a bang and is basically the perfect final boss for both games together, not just for Apocalypse. The fight introduces a brand new gimmick that somehow makes complete logical sense and works very intuitively despite the fact that you've never done it before.Long, war of attrition fight demanding perfect execution, but the boss also has enough variety in its attacks that you're constantly on your toes instead of autopiloting.Massively epic fight given the identity of the boss and its place in the SMT universe. So I'm just going to go with the very first thing that happened to pop into my head, which was the true final boss of SMT4: Apocalypse. Of course they don't last near as long as Lhutel, but then depending on your build, hammering a boss into the downed state more frequently in a shorter window of time will much more greatly pay off.Honestly there are too many for me to even remotely nail it down. That madman has no brakes on their aggression and while they don't have something like Bleed to scale their damage output close to a player's, they're hammering into targets and constantly flinching them. Lhutel is a generalist, but if one is looking for dynamic combat impact, the difference between her and, for example, the Kaiden Sellsword is just night and day. ![]() Aggressiveness should be its own quantifiable category for Spirits as it can make or break their use with certain builds. Otherwise, while yes she has quite a lot of staying power, having her participate in a fight can cause it to be more chaotic and erratic than necessary due to the 100% drop of aggro once she teleports, which again is done with extreme frequency when she's not hopped up on blood pheromones. She's good because she makes things like setup and healing feel more leniant without making the game feel easy.Ĭursed-Blood Pots solve a lot of her coy combat style, and will make her much more aggressive and actually perform to a much higher degree. If you need to heal, refill FP, or buff, she's got you for about 10-20 secs and she won't waste a quarter of her health while doing so. Lhutel will chill out and chuck spears at a boss while you do all the hard work. Mimic and Tiche are objectively better summons in terms of damage output, but I try to never use them unless I feel that it's absolutely necessary, or I just hate a boss. This isn't me trying to shame people, if you enjoy the game with another summon then you do you, but you're probably only doing around half the damage that's necessary to kill any of the bosses. The bottom line is that if you need more than what Lhutel offers it means that you're being carried. If you tried her below that level then you need to upgrade her and try again. ![]() Lhutel needs to be +9-10 to actually be viable, but that's also true for most of the other S tier summons. It should be noted that due to her slow attack frequency and teleporting around that she holds aggro very poorly.įor anyone who says that she sucks, your just wrong, there is a reason why so many good players say she's an S tier summon.
