I don't know if it completed but nothing more happened after another 15 minutes or so. When I clicked the executable file, terminal opened and eventually reported the following. ![]() Vipin - In PSE 21, the Editor file in the Spolrt Files folder must be opened using a right click to get to the Clontents folder. Since many people in the Community have reported the same problem I have had (that is, works once, then requires computer reboot to work again in both PSE 2021 and PSE 2022), it seems to me that a fix should come from Adobe. If I uninstall and reinstall everything, will the catalog disappear as well even if I save the preferences? If I save a catalog, will it kee the proper connections? In any case, if past experience means anything, this almost seems like a corrupt preferences file is acting up. It took me months to fix the connection problems. I am hesitant to uninstall both Organizer and Editor (i.e., the whole suite) because the last time I had to do that when moving from PSE 2019 in High Sierra to PSE 2021 in Big Sur, I lost the connections between hundreds of edited photos and their originals and gothundreds of incorrect connections when I tried to repair the catalog (maybe because several cameras over the years put identical photo names on pictures taken years apart). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling PSE Editor without success. I know that you've returned your copy of PSE 2022, but hopefully the information here will be useful to others who are struggling to get it to work with Monterey.Īside: Lightroom, Lightroom Classic, and full Photoshop have been M1-native for some while, so I'm not sure what's keeping PSE from getting the love. Thanks, Vipin. Intel 6th Generation or newer processor, Apple M1 processor (Using Rosetta 2).The Adobe PSE system requirements page doesn't list Monterey, just I don't know what other issues there might be with running PSE 2022 under Monterey. After you finish the updates, the hang on launch problem should be fixed. Due to the nature of the problem, you might not be able to trigger an "automatic" update in PSE 2022 and you might have to install its update manually. Two late December posts in the first thread – one by a customer, one by an Adobe employee – suggest that you need to update both Monterey and PSE 2022. As we have more information, we will update the forums. An Adobe Support Community post in late November, by an Adobe employee, said that "Adobe is actively working with Apple to resolve the issues with macOS 12.0 Monterey. I don't know what other compatibility issues there might have been (or might still be), but these would have been show-stoppers.Ģ. A long thread, dating back to October, describes launch failures that people were having with PSE 22 on Monterey. Some users of Mac OS 12 (Monterey) have recently reported success, and have suggested that Adobe has solved the problem, but as far as I can discover, there has been no official statement from the manufacturer.Ī search of the Adobe site turned up a few items of interest.ġ. There is extensive discussion on both Adobe and Apple support sites about this problem. Adobe sales brochure today still lists only Mac OS 10 and 11 as compatible with PS Elements 2022. ![]()
